DRAMATHON: 2017
On January 14th, from 12:30pm - 9:30pm, two dozen lovely students joined our staff for a day-long marathon of theatre workshops, including musical theatre dance, acting and improv, and production. With ages ranging from 12-18, these students showed off their creative sides, thought outside the box, and made some beautiful works of art up on stage. Thanks to all who came, and the kind people at Riverside Arts Center for welcoming us into their facility!

DEAREST ANNABEL LEE: A NEW MUSICAL
MAY 2016The show began when creators Kellie Beck and Sarah Atwood first met to discuss the idea. Originally, the show you know today was only going to be a six-song demo centered around the mystery of Edgar Allan Poe and the women in his life. Yellow Barn Theater, in Ann Arbor, MI was rented out for August 2nd, and a cast of young performers from the Ypsilanti area were compiled into a thirteen person cast, as the show grew from a demo into a full length musical. Rehearsals began while the show was still being written.
JUNE 2016The show is finished, and rehearsals continue! Budget for the show is entirely through donations and local business sponsorships. Tickets become available to reserve in Yellow Barn's 70 seat house.
AUGUST 2ND, 2016, 7:30 PMOpening night and world premiere of Dearest Annabel Lee: A New Musical. The show goes off without a hitch, and donations and profit allow us to extend the show, and plan for a local run in Ypsilanti, MI, at the Lincoln Performing Arts Center.
AUGUST 2016There is a 10 day hiatus, and the creative team starts on editing the show as quickly as possible. Songs are cut, new songs are written, whole scenes are rearranged. Rehearsals start up again, prepping for a much larger productions September 10th and 11th.
SEPTEMBER 10TH & 11TH, 2016
The show runs for a second time, this time with a much larger theatre, and a three show weekend. After a beautiful run, the future of the show is one big question; what comes next?
FALL 2016We say goodbye to our original cast as they move on to future amazing endeavors! The creative team officially welcomes Athena Chapekis, and Kellie, Sarah, and Athena start the process of a full level production, with a revised book and libretto for Spring 2017, in beautiful Ann Arbor.
